Security Guard, Life-Safety & Operational Risk Disclaimer
01. Operational Scope: Software Intelligence vs. Physical Security
To prevent any ambiguity, misrepresentation, or erroneous reliance, this Disclosure clearly defines what Sentis OS does and does not provide:
✓ What Sentis Vision DOES Provide
- RTSP Stream Connectivity: Automated API and RTSP bridges to existing NVR camera streams;
- Algorithmic Scene Analytics: Computer vision inference detecting dwell times, object bounding boxes, and scene classifications;
- Mobile Alert Dispatch: Instant alert routing to designated client staff via Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, SMS, or Webhook;
- Midnight PDF Executive Summaries: Automated 24-hour incident grouping, log audits, and rule counts;
- Operational Audit Trails: Timestamped append-only verification logs for building management.
✗ What Sentis Vision DOES NOT Provide
- NO Physical Security Guards: No human personnel stationed on-site, no physical patrols, and no physical intervention;
- NO Emergency 911 Dispatch: Sentis never calls or dispatches police, fire, or emergency medical services;
- NO Central Station Monitoring: Not a UL-listed central station or certified burglar/fire alarm monitoring company;
- NO Life-Safety Guarantee: Not a substitute for code-mandated fire alarms, smoke detectors, or sprinkler systems;
- NO Bailment or Duty of Care: Sentis does not assume custody of premises, personal property, or tenant safety.
02. Prohibition on Guard Replacement
Property managers and building owners frequently deploy Sentis to enhance operational visibility, reduce response lag for maintenance staff, and automate nocturnal exterior checks. However, Sentis must NEVER be used to replace licensed, bonded security guards, door attendants, concierge staff, or fire watch personnel where such personnel are required by:
- Municipal or state building, safety, or housing codes;
- Commercial or residential insurance policy underwriting covenants;
- Lease agreements, tenant association covenants, or collective bargaining obligations;
- Prudent property management standards in high-risk environments.
Any decision by a building owner or managing agent to alter, reduce, or eliminate physical human security guards is made at the customer's sole and exclusive risk.
03. Probabilistic Detection & Technical Limitations
Computer vision relies upon statistical models operating on digital camera feeds. Detection performance depends on variables entirely outside Sentis's control:
- Environmental Conditions: Extreme weather (heavy rain, snow, fog), rapid illumination changes, shadows, headlight glare, or total darkness;
- Hardware & Stream Quality: Dirty camera lenses, out-of-focus optics, low frame rates (FPS), lens obstructions, or faulty NVR hardware;
- Network Latency & ISP Drops: Internet service provider downtime, bandwidth throttling, packet drop, or local power outages;
- Third-Party Messaging Latency: Telecommunication carrier delays, Telegram/WhatsApp server outages, or Slack webhook throttling.
Consequently, Sentis expressly disclaims any warranty that every occurrence, breach, loitering individual, obstruction, or leak will be identified. Both false positives and false negatives are normal operational characteristics of artificial intelligence systems.
04. Emergency Life-Safety Protocol
In any situation involving an immediate threat to life, physical safety, active fire, smoke, violent crime, or medical emergency, ON-SITE STAFF AND OCCUPANTS MUST IMMEDIATELY DIAL 911 or local emergency authorities.
Never delay contacting emergency services or evacuating a building to wait for, review, or verify a Sentis alert or camera stream.
05. Agreement to Terms & Indemnification
Use of Sentis Vision is strictly conditioned upon Customer's execution and acceptance of our Master Terms of Service and Enterprise Privacy Policy, including the comprehensive indemnification provisions, limitation of liability, and liquidated damages caps set forth therein.
